Experience

Dr. Tenisha James is an educational administrator with nearly 20 years of experience in higher education, leading initiatives, programs, and services supporting student equity and success. As Vice President of Planning & Development at Norco College, she oversees student success initiatives, student equity, anti-racism efforts, governance, and comprehensive student support systems through integrated data-informed strategic planning. Departments include the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research, Student Equity Initiatives, and Grants. She also serves as the college’s Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO), leading the development and submission of key accreditation reports. Previous to this role, she led Counseling and Equity Programming and provided campus-wide leadership for Guided Pathways as the Dean of Student Services at Norco College. Dr. James began her higher education career in federally funded TRIO programs, Upward Bound and Student Support Services, after working as a High School College Counselor.
