Dr. Roger Perez, a first-generation college student, attended community college at Santiago Canyon College in Orange, California. He is a “triple-Titan,” having earned three degrees from CSU Fullerton—a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English, and a Doctorate in Education, with an emphasis in Educational Leadership—Community College Leadership Concentration. His dissertation studied the role of community colleges in supporting queer and trans students of color.

Dr. Perez has taught at Fullerton College since 2007, attaining a full-time position in 2012 in the English department, and has taught composition, literature, and film. During his tenure, he has served in multiple leadership roles at Fullerton College, including faculty coordinator of the Online Teaching Certificate program, chair of the Distance Education Committee, faculty co-chair and writer on the Accreditation Steering Committee, and he helped start the college’s literary magazine, Live Wire. He has also served as the English Department Coordinator. As a former Disney cast member, Roger enjoys visiting Disneyland, attending theater productions, and reading. He is excited to work with the faculty, classified professionals, and students at Norco College.
