Walter “Buck” Stevens is Professor of Theatre Arts at Norco College in California,
and has been at the college since 1995. As Director of the Norco Theatre Conservatory
(NTC), based at the college, Stevens created a program with a focus on training and
preparing young theatre artists in the practical aspects of mounting fully staged
productions, rehearsal and performance, and subsequent success in the industry. Mr.
Stevens has directed numerous productions, ranging from Shakespeare to classic Americana
and Musical Theatre, and has also lead several Study Abroad programs to Oxford, England,
Salamanca, Spain, and Dublin, Ireland.
In addition, he is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, the Board of Directors for the Dana
Point Theatre Company, and has directed and performed in many productions throughout
Southern California. A portion of each year Mr. Stevens resides in the city of Bilbao,
in the Basque Country of northern Spain, where he enjoys, among other things, research
on the topic of Transcultural Performance and Prehistory, and regularly participates
in the annual “Festival de Teatro y de las Artes de la Calle.”
As a trained actor Stevens has appeared both artistically and professionally onstage
and in front of the camera in numerous productions and venues. In addition, his frequent
collaboration as producer and director on various projects has won critical acclaim
on several occasions, and his highly skilled abilities and approach as an acting coach
have been invaluable to many of his former students and trainees.

Walter Stevens began teaching Theatre Arts at Norco College in 1995. During his 23-year
career, Stevens has taught his students the art of acting techniques, directing, playwriting,
script analysis, and the history of theatre.
In addition, he has directed numerous productions at the College, ranging from Shakespeare
to classic Americana and musical theatre. He has also led Study Abroad programs to
Oxford, England, Dublin, Ireland and Salamanca, Spain.
He specializes in performance techniques, Shakespeare and theatre history. He studied
closely with drama theorists Robert Cohen and Jerzy Grotowski. When he is not teaching,
Stevens directs and performs in productions throughout Southern California. Most recently,
Stevens played the role of Lord Capulet in the New Swan Shakespeare Festival production
of Romeo and Juliet.
Stevens holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Irvine.
He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and
Radio Artist and serves on the Board of Directors for the Dana Point Theatre Company.
A portion of each year, Stevens lives in the city of Bilbao, in the Basque Country
