Norco College School of Visual & Performing Arts
Iñaki Zubizarreta is originally from The Basque Country, in Northern Spain. He graduated
from the Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Bilbao, Spain, as a Music/Piano major
and came to the U.S. to continue his education. His experience in community college
provided him with the inspiration to further his studies at a more advanced level,
and eventually he transferred to U.C. Irvine where he earned a Bachelor of Music Degree,
with a minor in Spanish Literature, and finally a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Music
with an emphasis in Piano Performance.
Mr. Zubizarreta’s varied experience as a professional musician includes accompaniment
for instrumental and vocal performances, as well as dance and musical theater. In
addition to his music performance experience on stage, he has also worked behind the
scenes and backstage as house manager, stage manager and recording technician. Having
been a part of the music program at Norco College since 2012, he truly enjoys sharing
his passion for the arts and collaborating with colleagues, while introducing students
to various musical approaches and styles in his online courses such as Music Appreciation (MUS 19) and Music of Multicultural America (MUS 89).
