Achieving Equity in Guided Pathways
The goal of Norco College is to ensure that all students have equitable access and success in pursuing and attaining their educational and career goals. Our commitment to this work began in 2015 with the Completion Initiative and continues to shape our priorities through the strategic planning process via our Student Transformation vision. Norco College endeavors to change the trajectory of students’ lives by addressing four critical areas in student transformation: access, completion, equity, and professional development. The Guided Pathways pillars provide a framework for addressing these four critical areas that are designed to create equitable access and success for students. The Completion by Design Loss Momentum framework guides the strategic and operational activities of Equity in Guided Pathways at Norco College through identifying and addressing institutional obstacles to persistence and completion. Our Equity in Guided Pathway leaders across the campus deploy strategies to address student momentum at Connection, Entry, Progress, and Completion through Clarifying the Path, helping students Enter the Path, supporting students to Stay on the Path, and ensuring Learning with intentional outcomes.
