Eligibility
Families Eligible to Receive CalWORKs Temporary Assistance Must Have:
- Minor children in the home who lack the necessary support because of the absence,
disability, death or unemployment of one or both parents.
- In addition to parents, other relatives (such as grandparents) who are caring for
minor children may also be eligible.
- A pregnant woman with no other children can also qualify for CalWORKs benefits.
Eligibility Requirements for Norco College CalWORKs
- Norco College must be your home campus.
- Single or two-parent families receiving county cash aid for both themselves and their children:
- Must be a CalWORKs/TANF Cash-Aid Recipient
- Parents, as well as children, must be receiving cash-aid (i.e., parents who are no
longer receiving cash-aid and are only receiving cash-aid for their children are not
eligible.)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have at least one child under the age of 18 years old or currently pregnant.
- Must be able to provide proof of program eligibility via county documentation to receive
CalWORKs program service which can be any of the following:
- Verification of Benefits Form (CSF 142)
- Notice of Action
- Welfare-to-Work Plan (school must listed as an approved activity)
How to Apply
- Applying for CalWORKs requires a visit to a local Department of Public Social Services
(DPSS) office.
- Visit Admissions and Records for instruction on how to apply to Norco College.
- Apply for Financial Aid.
- Call the CalWORKs office to schedule an intake appointment after you submit your application
at 951-372-7128. Remember to bring in a copy of your most current Verification of
Benefits, Notice of Action verifying your cash aid or a current Welfare-to-Work contract.
