Custodial Services
The Custodial Department performs, in a timely manner, cleaning services to ensure
an environment that is conducive to a positive learning experience for Norco College
students. Some of the services that are provided are listed below:
Restroom cleaning: Services are provided throughout the day to ensure restroom facilities are clean,
safe, and operational.
- Daily: Empty trash and recycling, refill dispensers, clean and sanitize fixtures.
- Weekly: Dust & wipe down partitions, vents, and doors.
- Monthly: Thoroughly clean and flush drains with a de-odorizing agent
- Quarterly: Deep clean floors.
Classroom cleaning: Classrooms are cleaned nightly.
- Daily: Empty trash and recycling, clean white boards, report any maintenance concerns.
- Weekly: Dust & wipe down horizontal surfaces, spot clean carpet,
- Monthly: Thoroughly clean window ledges and windows.
- Quarterly: Carpet & floor care (extraction or burnishing of floors).
Public area cleaning: Public areas are cleaned on a daily and nightly basis.

Special projects : This consists of setting up and cleaning up for special events.

Golf Cart Requests
Golf carts will be requested in ServiceDesk (only accessible within RCCD's network) by selecting golf cart in the category section.
Please select the golf cart type that you will use in the symptom section. For additional
details please write them in the maintenance request section, including the time and
days you will be utilizing the golf cart.
Check-In/Check-Out Procedures
Golf carts and their chargers will be housed at the Operations Center. Each day,
the golf carts can be checked out by the person submitting the request beginning at
8am. To check them out, a log out sheet will be signed and the key will be issued
by Facilities. The golf carts should be returned by 4pm. If anyone in Facilities is
not available for check in, the departments should utilize the key drop box located
at the Operations Center. With the exception of Health Services, NO golf carts are to be out on campus overnight.
Grounds
“Pride, Cleanness, and Detail”
The Grounds Department performs, in a timely and unobtrusive manner, all standard
grounds maintenance operations to enhance and maintain the aesthetic appearance of
the College grounds. We ensure community safety and provide the best possible physical
environment for education in support of the Norco College Mission. Grounds operations
include, but are not limited to:
Environmental Services: When requested, or as necessary, maintain and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the
campus by removing litter and debris (leaves, branches etc) from paved and landscaped
areas. Landscaped areas include, but are not limited to, native woodlands, turf areas,
tree rings/planting beds and other mulched areas.
Agronomic Services: Maintain and enhance the health and appearance of turf areas by performing any standard
agronomic operation for establishing, maintaining and upgrading lawns. Work includes
mowing, aerating, fertilizing, liming, seeding and other primary or secondary agronomic
operations.
Horticultural Services: Maintain and enhance the health and aesthetic appearance of landscaped areas by performing
any standard horticultural operation designed to promote the healthy growth of trees,
shrubs and perennials.
Flower Program: Maintain and develop areas of seasonal interest around buildings, along walkways
and roadways, along woodlands and at other selected focal points by installing flowering
plants such as spring/summer bulbs, annuals, biennials and perennials. Work includes,
but is not limited to, bed preparation, planting, fertilizing, watering and mulching.
General Support Services: Provide manpower as requested by supporting the smooth functioning of College programs
and events. Work includes set-up or breakdown of canopies, tables, and chairs. Special
events and programs include, but are not limited to, Commencement, student activities,
conferences, and meetings.
Sports Field Services: The Sports Field is home to both the Norco College men’s and women’s squads. The complex
contains two artificial turf fields with a cooling system, two locker rooms, men’s
and women’s restroom, concession booth, and parking lot. It currently has a seating
capacity of 400 and a newly installed state of the art scoreboard. In addition to
holding the college soccer matches, the facility is used for graduation, student conditioning
classes and outside community sports organization.
Maintenance
The purpose of the Maintenance Department is to maximize the performance of equipment
by ensuring efficient performance via preventative maintenance. The Maintenance Department
is committed to offering a clean, well-maintained, and attractive environment enhancing
a positive learning experience for Norco College students.
The Maintenance Department provides preventative and corrective maintenance for the
buildings on the Norco campus with a crew of three maintenance mechanics and a maintenance
mechanic helper.
Maintenance operations include, but are not limited to:
- Maintenance Services: diagnosis, repair, installation and alteration of heating, ventilation,
air conditioning and refrigeration systems and related equipment and facilities; perform
preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment to assure efficient operation.
- Locksmith Services: provide copies of keys upon request, ensure proper operation of
locks, doors, and cabinets; repair and provide maintenance of electronic and non-
electric locks; maintains panic bars, door closures and other exit hardware.
- Electrical Services: installing appliances, lighting and addressing other electrical
issues as required.
- Paint the interior and exterior of buildings and cross walks.
- Address plumbing issues as required.
- Handle in-house campus office moves.
Submit a Work Order
Please submit a ServiceDesk work order for any issues concerning buildings, landscape, and safety issues. Everyone
is welcome to identify cleaning, maintenance and safety issues; use of the Footprints
work order system is the most efficient means to address these issues.
All work orders will be processed in a timely manner, depending on the work order
number. Faculty and Staff can follow progress on requests which have been submitted.
The ServiceDesk system automatically sends an email to the person who submitted the request as changes
to the request are made and completed.

Use of Facilities
District facilities are available for community use when such use does not conflict
with District programs and operations.
Facility use shall be limited to places and times identified by the College Chief

As a Community entity, to request the use of a facility at Norco College, please complete
the Norco College Facilities Request & Hold Harmless Forms and return it to the Business Services office. The form is a two page document
and must be signed, front & back prior to submission.
