Start Budgeting
“Budgeting is simply telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it
went."

Monthly Cash Flow Plan. You must create a cash flow plan for every month. Your personal budget is your game plan, where you tell your money
what you want it to do. Just give every dollar a name and write it down – there should
be zero dollars unaccounted for. You can use the Basic Student Budget worksheet to get started and access tutorial videos and resources in our online personal
finance platforms. Request access here or by clicking the link below.
Use The Envelope System. Take some envelopes, write the budget categories on the envelopes, and use only
that money to purchase those items. Try only a couple of categories at first until
you get the hang of it. If the money is not in there, you can't spend it. And remember, it takes practice; you won't get it right the first time.
Earn More. If you need to increase your income, find ways to get more money by applying for financial aid and other local scholarships, national scholarships, and grants, or make more money by starting a new job with a higher pay rate or more hours. Find more money by signing up for the 14-day Money Finder challenge.
Spend Less. If you need to decrease your expenses, check out these 22 Practical Ways to Save Money and start changing your habits today. Remember, a little change can turn into a
