On Jan. 28, the University of California, Riverside’s Bourns College of Engineering (BCOE) hosted the Transfer Pathways Summit on campus. The event brought together faculty and administrators from K-12 feeder districts, Norco College, and UCR to foster a regional ecosystem of practices that support seamless student transitions into engineering careers.
The summit featured focused discussions aimed at breaking down institutional silos and sharing best practices to ensure students not only complete the necessary transfer-level math and science courses but also receive comprehensive academic and professional support. The goal is to prepare students for high-skill, high-wage careers in engineering.
The event is part of the 2+2+2 framework, a regional partnership connecting K-12 schools, community colleges, and universities. Funded by a new K-16 sub-award from UCR, the initiative supports the development of the Inland Engineering Pathways Partnership, which seeks to strengthen engineering education and career readiness across the region.
