Norco College welcomed industry leaders, educators, and community supporters to its Third Annual Industry Partners & Awards Breakfast on Friday, March 28. The event celebrated the achievements of key partners contributing to workforce development and student success, with special recognition for the 2025 Alumnus of the Year, Vanessa Irene Robles.
Norco College President Monica Green, Ed.D., opened the event by emphasizing the importance of partnerships in shaping future career opportunities for students. Attendees engaged in networking sessions, industry-focused discussions, and a keynote address from Mark Orme, City Manager of Eastvale.
The highlight of the morning was the presentation of the 2025 Alumnus of the Year Award to Vanessa Irene Robles, a distinguished graduate whose academic and professional journey continues to inspire. Robles, a first-generation college student, graduated from Norco College in 2020 with multiple associate degrees and a certificate in Mechanical Engineering. She later earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Los Angeles, and now serves as a Hazardous Substances Engineer with the Department of Toxic Substances Control. Her success story is a demonstration of the impact of education, perseverance, and community support.
Additionally, Norco College presented the President’s Partnership Awards to two outstanding organizations:
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division – Recognized for its long-standing partnership with Norco College, providing students with hands-on training, research opportunities, and career mentorship in STEM fields. Since 2017, the partnership has resulted in the hiring of three Norco College graduates and the successful completion of over 50 internships.
NDR Therapeutic Riding – Honored for its commitment to the community and collaboration with local law enforcement agencies to support mental health and wellness through therapeutic riding programs.
“These partnerships and success stories highlight the incredible impact of collaboration between Norco College and our industry leaders,” said Green. “We are proud to recognize these individuals and organizations that help shape the future of our students and strengthen our workforce.”
The annual event remains a cornerstone of industry engagement, fostering relationships that enhance workforce readiness and community enrichment. Norco College looks forward to continuing this tradition of honoring those who make a lasting difference.
