Student Life Emergency Fund Established

Norco College, together with the RCCD Foundation, established the Student Life Emergency fund to assist students in need of help with food and housing insecurities, childcare assistance, and other basic needs encountered daily by our students.

It is estimated that 15 percent of our student population is facing some form of homelessness and we want to help decrease this number.

“I would like to thank the donors who have contributed so far," said Mark Hartley, dean of Student Life. “The funds have put food on the table of students, a roof over their heads, and in some cases, transportation away from an abusive situation."

Contributions, made through the RCCD Foundation, are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Gifts to the Norco Student Life Emergency Fund can be made different ways:

  1. Donors who wish to make a one-time gift can do so online at the Foundation's secure giving site: Input desired gift amount in the other field and note Student Life Emergency Fund in the designation field.

  2. One-time gifts should be made payable to RCCD Foundation, and mailed to RCCD Foundation, 4800 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, CA 92506. Please note Student Life Emergency Fund on the memo line.

For questions, please contact Mark Hartley, dean of Student Life, at mark.hartley@norcocollege.edu

Footnote: Please note that the RCCD Foundation Board of Directors has established gift policies, which allow a one-time administrative allocation of 5% on all new gifts to the Foundation. This assessment helps the Foundation fund its operations and activities performed on behalf of the Colleges and District.
