SSS-STEM and MESA programs recently took six students to the UCR Ignite Professional
Development Conference, hosted by the Bourns College of Engineering and MESA. As the
only community college in attendance, our students had the unique opportunity to connect
with UCR alumni and industry professionals, gaining valuable insights into STEM fields,
including mock interviews with professionals in engineering.
Additionally, six students attended UCR's Community College Day, hosted by Chicano
Student Programs, with 250 community college students in attendance. They participated
in a campus tour, visited a resource fair, and heard from UCR staff and students about
transfer opportunities.
These two events provided our students with valuable knowledge, connections, and skills
to support their academic and career journeys.
