Norco College released 41 new program pages to help students understand and navigate certificate and degree options. Pages include career options, trailheads, major information, and student/faculty profiles. The program pages have also been added to the A-Z index. This week's program spotlight is on the Biology program.

Biology is the natural science that involves the study of life and living organisms, including their physical and chemical structure, function, development and evolution. Sub-disciplines of biology include: biochemistry, molecular biology, cellular biology, physiology, ecology and evolutionary biology.

 

Career Options

Career options for students who get a degree in biology include: marine biologist, oncologist, crime scene investigator, microbiologist, nurse, physician assistant, veterinarian, and dentist.

Seda Shirinian

Seda Shirinian started attending Norco College in 2016 as a dual enrollment high school student. Seda transferred from Norco College to UCLA in 2018, where she was awarded the UCLA Transfer Alliance Program Scholarship for successful completion of the Honors program at Norco College. She is majoring in Human Biology & Society.

“At Norco College, I was involved in the Honors program and the STEM Scholars program. Also, I worked as a STEM Center Student Assistant, and I served as a School of STEM peer mentor,” said Shirinian. “I am thankful for the opportunity to have grown academically as a student at Norco College.”
