Norco College is thrilled to announce that Michelle Ramin, esteemed faculty member and Director of the Norco College Art Gallery, has been featured in an insightful interview by Voyage LA. The publication highlights Michelle’s inspiring journey as an artist, educator, and curator, emphasizing her deep-rooted passion for the arts and commitment to her students.

Michelle's story, as shared with Voyage LA, traces her artistic journey from childhood, where her love for drawing was nurtured by her grandmother, to her current role at Norco College. After earning her BA in Fine Art from Penn State University and an MFA in Drawing and Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute, Michelle dedicated herself to both her craft and teaching. Her extensive experience includes managing art galleries, showcasing her work across the country, and teaching at various institutions before joining Norco College in 2022.

"Teaching is a true passion of mine – it’s not the side note to making art. It’s an incredible gift in and of itself," Michelle shared with Voyage LA. At Norco College, Michelle has not only impacted her students with her vibrant teaching style but has also transformed the Norco College Art Gallery into a dynamic space for contemporary art, hosting four exhibitions annually.

Michelle’s dedication to the arts and education shines through in her multifaceted career. She balances her time between teaching, curating, and creating her own artwork, which has garnered national and international attention. Her work, particularly her color pencil drawings, has been widely recognized for its unique exploration of technology and personal identity.

In the interview, Michelle also reflected on the challenges she faced throughout her career, emphasizing her perseverance and determination. "Every step has been ours and ours alone – the wins and losses. I’m very proud of that," she said, highlighting the hard-fought journey she and her partner undertook to build their life and careers.

Norco College is proud to have Michelle Ramin as part of its faculty, where she continues to inspire students and contribute to the cultural and academic environment of the college. Her feature in Voyage LA is a testament to her significant contributions to the arts and education communities.
