Norco College invites all students to kick off the fall 2024 semester by attending the Library & Learning Resource Center (LRC) Open House on September 10 and 11. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day and offers students an exciting opportunity to explore the wide range of resources and services available at the Library and LRC. To add to the fun, students who complete the scavenger hunt highlighting key services will be treated to a FREE pizza lunch—while supplies last!

The Library & LRC Open House is designed to help students familiarize themselves with essential academic resources that can support their success throughout the semester. Attendees will have the chance to learn about:

Library Liaisons: In alignment with the Guided Pathways Framework, Norco College has dedicated library liaisons for each school and off-campus center. These liaisons are available to assist students with research, resources, and academic support specific to their areas of study:

  •     Vivian Harris: Public Services Librarian – Applied Technologies & Apprenticeships, Communication, Humanities & Languages (CHL), Counseling

Workshops & Textbooks: The Library offers a variety of workshops throughout the semester, tailored to enhance students' research skills and academic success. Faculty members are encouraged to schedule workshops for their students by filling out the Library Workshop Request Form, accessible via the Library homepage.

    Additionally, the Library supports Open Educational Resources (OER) by maintaining an online textbook list. Faculty members can add their textbooks by emailing reference@norcocollege.edu. Students should also be reminded that some textbooks are available for semester-long checkout, providing a cost-effective alternative to purchasing books. Library Operating Hours for Fall 2024

The Library's operating hours for the fall 2024 term are as follows:

  • Monday - Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
