Six kinesiology students at Norco College are getting real-world experience this fall thanks to a new partnership between the Kinesiology Department and Wonderland Pediatric Therapy.
The internship, launched during the Fall 2024 semester, offers students a unique opportunity for hands-on learning in a clinical environment. The six students were selected through a competitive application process that included submitting a resume and participating in an interview with Kinesiology Department Chair Suzanne Witmer and Associate Professor Ruben Aguilar.
As part of the internship, students committed to completing 50 hours of on-site experience at Wonderland Pediatric Therapy. They also worked on a final project assigned by Wonderland staff, allowing them to apply their skills in a practical setting. To support their professional development, students were provided with scrubs and immersed in the day-to-day operations of a pediatric therapy clinic.
“This partnership has been an incredible opportunity for our students to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application,” said Aguilar. “We’re proud to offer experiences that help our students achieve their professional goals.”
The Kinesiology Department aims to create more partnerships like this, providing students with career-focused opportunities to strengthen their skills and prepare for future roles in the field.
