We are hosting Aaron Seitz of the UCR Brain Game Center as our Special STEM Guest Speaker on Thursday - May 5, 2022 at 5pm via zoom

Aaron Seitz, PhD  is a professor of psychology at the University of California, Riverside, where he conducts research on the mechanisms of learning and memory. He received a bachelor's degree in theoretical mathematics from Reed College and a Ph.D. in computational neuroscience from Boston University, did postdoctoral work in systems neuroscience at Harvard Medical School. His research, with over 100 peer-reviewed publications, spans both basic science, understanding mechanisms of perception, learning, multisensory processing and as well as translational work using ambulatory tools (e.g., running on mobile phones and tablets) to reach larger, more diverse, and traditionally underserved/understudied populations, to understand cognitive diversity (broadly defined) and create tools to measure function and to personalize training based upon individualized needs. While his primary appointment is in Psychology, he holds cooperative appointments in Bioengineering, Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science, the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program, and Psychiatry. He is also Director of the UCR Brain Game Center, and he'll be sharing more with you about his work in that center tonight.
