Michelle Ramin, professor of art, Norco College Art Gallery director and professional artist, has had her work selected for inclusion in “Interstate,” a national juried exhibition at Central Washington University’s Sarah Spurgeon Gallery. Ramin’s piece, “Breasts and Eggs,” was chosen by Frye Art Museum curator Alexis L. Silva for this highly selective show. More than 600 artists submitted entries, with only 47 selected.
“Interstate” is on view through Dec. 6, 2025, at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. Ramin attended the opening reception on Nov. 6, where she met curator Alexis Silva and Sarah Spurgeon Gallery Director Heather Horn Johnson, connected with fellow exhibiting artists, and explored the showcase.

More on the Sarah Spurgeon Gallery and “Interstate”
The Sarah Spurgeon Gallery, founded in 1969 at Central Washington University, is dedicated to presenting contemporary art exhibitions and outreach programs that engage, challenge, and expand viewers’ understanding of the arts. Located in Ellensburg, Washington, the gallery provides opportunities for artists and audiences to explore culturally diverse ideas in an academic setting.
“Interstate” is a national juried exhibition open to submissions in all media and subject matter, with no required theme. The subtitle, “where I-90 meets I-82,” situates the exhibition in Ellensburg and symbolizes the flow and exchange of artwork across geographic distances and boundaries. Proceeds from the exhibition support student scholarships in the CWU Department of Art + Design.
