Sounds Like Art is an interdisciplinary collaboration supported by the Pathways to Success Title V grant. The project brought together Norco College Art and Music Industry Studies students in fall 2025 to listen, reflect, and respond collectively. Overseen by professors Megan Lindeman (Art) and Brady Kerr (Music Industry Studies), students met to discuss tracks from Norco Music’s most recent album, When the Rivers Forget Us, using the music as inspiration to design single-cover artwork that visually translated sound, mood, and meaning. Central to the project was conversation—sharing perspectives, offering feedback, and refining ideas through collective input. This exchange shaped the final deliverables, resulting in artwork that reflects not only individual creativity but also a shared process rooted in listening, critique, and collaboration across disciplines.
Pathways to Success is a Title V collaborative initiative with California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), and San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC), focused on advancing student success in the arts and humanities. Through peer mentoring, asset-based teaching, experiential learning, internships, career readiness, and family outreach, the program supports equitable pathways from entry to transfer, completion, and career preparation. By centering creativity, cultural knowledge, and lived experience, Pathways to Success empowers students to thrive academically, professionally, and creatively.
