Norco College’s Rising Scholars Program at CRC Achieves Unprecedented Success

Norco College is proud to announce remarkable achievements in its Rising Scholars Program at the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC). Serving approximately 600 students during the 2023-2024 school year, Norco College offered 112 in-person credit courses at CRC, significantly contributing to educational opportunities for incarcerated individuals.

According to the 2024 Rehabilitative Programming Report by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), Norco College’s Rising Scholars Program at CRC has awarded more college degrees than any other CDCR institution. This success underscores Norco College's commitment to providing high-quality education to all students, regardless of their circumstances.

In June 2024, 52 students graduated from Norco College's Rising Scholars Program at CRC with Associate Degrees for Transfer. This milestone was marked by the first graduation ceremony since 2019 that allowed the presence of family and friends, making it a particularly special event for the graduates and their loved ones.

Adding to this success, eight Norco College alumni at CRC will receive bachelor’s degrees from Pitzer College. This achievement highlights the program's effectiveness in preparing students for continued education and success beyond their associate degrees.

Looking ahead, Norco College is excited to announce that starting in Fall 2024, the University of California, Riverside will offer a Bachelor’s degree program at CRC. Twenty Norco College alumni have already been accepted into this program, continuing their educational journey and further demonstrating the impact and reach of the Rising Scholars Program.
