Fall 2024 is in full swing, and Norco College’s Career and Academic Planning (CAP) events are creating meaningful opportunities for students to connect, explore, and grow. Through collaboration between schools, clubs, and programs across campus, these events have been instrumental in helping students chart their academic and professional journeys.

So far, 12 engaging CAP events have taken place, giving students the chance to:

  • Connect with faculty and explore campus resources
  • Engage with alumni, who shared inspiring stories about their academic and career paths
  • Participate in Q&A sessions with professionals, including music producers, recording artists, and authors/poets
  • Meet local university representatives, learning about transfer programs and the benefits of continuing their education
  • Receive resume writing advice and guidance on internships directly related to their fields of study

The positive response from students and campus partners has been inspiring, and the CAP series will continue with more events scheduled throughout the fall semester. These events are designed to empower students by providing real-world insights, networking opportunities, and resources that align with their academic goals.

“CAP events have been an incredible way for our students to engage with faculty, alumni, and industry professionals,” said one event organizer. “We are grateful for the collaboration that’s making these events possible.”

Norco College encourages students to take advantage of the remaining CAP events and make the most of the resources available to them. Schools and organizations interested in hosting a CAP event or seeking support for planning can reach out to Lilia Garcia at lilia.garcia@norcocollege.edu.
