Norco College and John F. Kennedy Middle College High School have been selected as 2025–26 Exemplary Dual Enrollment Awardees by the California Department of Education, recognizing the strength of their partnership and commitment to expanding college access for high school students.
Part of the state’s California Schools Recognition Program, the Exemplary Dual Enrollment Award honors schools with outstanding dual enrollment programs and highlights effective practices that help strengthen and expand opportunities for students statewide. The award recognizes programs that provide meaningful access to college coursework—particularly for students who have historically faced barriers to higher education, including first-generation college students, low-income students, foster and homeless youth, students with disabilities, and students with dependent children.
To earn the designation, schools must demonstrate strong outcomes across several areas, including a sustained college partnership, equitable access to coursework, integration with college and district planning frameworks, opportunities for students to earn dual credit toward high school graduation, clearly defined academic and career pathways, comprehensive student supports, and positive student success outcomes.
Through its partnership with John F. Kennedy Middle College High School, Norco College provides students the opportunity to complete college-level coursework while earning their high school diploma, helping them accelerate their educational goals and begin their college journey with credits already earned.
