Norco College's culinary hub, the CORRAL, has been abuzz with activity as students and employees eagerly participated in a series of taste tests to help shape the menu for the upcoming season. Led by Chef Antonio Muniz and his team, the CORRAL aimed to create a new menu that would tantalize taste buds while remaining cost-effective for the Mustang community.

The taste testing kicked off with an invitation to sample various curry sauces paired with chicken. Among the contenders were Vindaloo, with its vinegar base, coconut curry, and tikka featuring a tomato base. Following the response from participants, it was revealed that coconut curry and Tikka emerged as clear winners, while Vindaloo fell behind in the rankings.

In a subsequent tasting event, the focus shifted to smoothies, with flavors ranging from classic combinations like strawberry-banana to exotic blends like mango pineapple. The feedback from attendees was positive, paving the way for customizable options at Peet's bar. Flavors such as vanilla, caramel, and various non-dairy milk alternatives, including oats, almonds, and soy, will soon cater to diverse preferences.

Looking ahead, the CORRAL is gearing up to introduce new additions to its menu. In the spring, students can anticipate the debut of Mazisoba salad, a refreshing option sure to delight health-conscious diners. Additionally, the CORRAL will roll out a value menu featuring wallet-friendly items priced at $3 and under, including favorites like hamburgers, chicken nuggets, cheese quesadillas, and rice and bean burritos.
