The NC POLS / Pre-Law Club presents: Meet Jocelyn Yow - Council Member of Eastvale,  Former Eastvale Mayor & Norco College's (2019) Alumna of the Year, on Thursday, April 6, from 1:15pm-2:15pm, in IT-117.

 

About

Jocelyn Yow, (class of 2014), was recognized as Norco College alumna of the year in 2019 for her outstanding record of public service and civic engagement. In 2018, Jocelyn was elected to Eastvale's city council. In 2020, at 25 years old, Jocelyn was sworn in as Eastvale's Mayor and was the youngest woman of color to be serve in this capacity in California's history. While at Norco College earning a SBS degree, Jocelyn also served as our youngest student body president, was a member of the Honors Program, of Alpha Gamma Sigma, and was student commencement speaker. She then earned a BA from U.C. Berkeley and an MA from Harvard Extension. Jocelyn currently serves on the Eastvale city council and is also the Legislative Advocacy Director for IGNITE, a national nonpartisan nonprofit organization focused on promoting greater representation and political engagement. She has previously worked as a district representative in the California State Senate and an aide for the U.S. House of Representatives.
