Women's Health

The staff at Student Health & Psychological Services recognizes that women are unique in their health needs. That is why we provide a variety of low-cost services including pap smears and birth control consultation in a friendly and confidential setting. Beyond that, we offer referral services to local medical clinics where female students can receive affordable treatment including mammograms, which provide for early detection of breast cancer.

We encourage our female students to schedule their well-woman exam annually. We also provide birth control prescriptions, free condoms, pregnancy testing and referrals for morning-after pills.

We encourage all students to have an immunization review as an adult, provided by our nursing staff. All female students up to age 26 should be vaccinated against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), which protects against viruses known to cause cervical cancer and genital warts. We offer the series of three immunizations for $125 each. You may qualify for free injections through the manufacturer’s patients assistance free vaccine program. We also recommend yearly testing for HIV in all students.

Stop by the Student Health & Psychological Services office on your college campus to pick up brochures on topics such as prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Cervical Cancer.
