Computer Applications

A computer application (app or application for short) is a computer program designed to perform a group of coordinated functions, tasks, or activities for the benefit of the user. The study of computer applications prepares students for a career in the field of computer applications and software development. It also can help students to become proficient with a specific application, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel or Adobe Photoshop.

Listed below are programs of study offered by Norco College and requirements for specific certificates and degrees. Students are encouraged to meet with a counselor for individual education planning.

Any request for a course substitution or waiver may be discussed with a counselor and must be submitted for approval to the Admissions and Records Office.

The C++ PROGRAMMING certificate provides focused, in-depth training in writing, testing and debugging object-oriented code using the C++ language.
Computer Programming Computer Programming
26.5 UNIT CERTIFICATE - 60 UNIT ASSOCIATE DEGREE
The COMPUTER PROGRAMMING certificate focuses on writing, implementation of computer programs and procedures of software design and computer programming. This includes instruction in software requirements definition, low and high-level computer programming languages, program writing and software customization, prototype testing and debugging.

26 UNIT CERTIFICATE - 60 UNIT ASSOCIATE DEGREE
The GRAPHIC DESIGN certificate focuses basic skills in graphic design by learning to manipulate drawn, painted, photographed, or computer-generated images as well as basic web design. Students will use typography and layout for high impact visual communication for print, web and other media.
