The California Community Colleges Women’s Soccer Coaches Association has selected Norco College sophomores Jenna Hinck and Haidee Duran to participate in Sophomore Bowl, a showcase for top players. The match will take place on Saturday at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento as part of the California Community Colleges Athletic Association soccer championship weekend.
Hick and Duran were selected from a pool of 120 players. Hinck, a forward who prepped at ML King High School in Riverside, CA, and Duran, a midfielder out of Santiago High School in Corona, CA, were co-captains this season for the Mustangs.
“Hinck displays leadership on and off the field,” Head Coach Lynsey Jalayer said. “She is a talented player who has the ability to dominate her opponent with her skills and competitive mentality. Her desire and work ethic gives her an edge to truly be an asset to a four-year program.”
Meanwhile, Jalayer called Duran a fierce competitor and a gifted soccer player.
“She has natural ability and the drive to be a top athlete,” she said. “Her skills and soccer smarts make her a standout among competitors. Haidee has the ability to compete at the next level.”
